Did you know that 139,730 individuals are food insecure in NH? That means 1 in 10 individuals in the state are affected by hunger every single day.

Did you also know that a study done in 2014 showed that 68% of those who utilize food banks in NH choose between food and utilities, and yet only 5% are homeless?

Startling, right?

In an effort to promote community and charity, Direct Capital (in conjunction with our parent company CIT Bank) is running Foodortunity, a contest that will allow voters to choose local food banks to donate money to – and all it takes is a click! CIT will be donating $10,000 to the first place winner. The second place winner will receive $5,000 and the third place winner will get $3,000.

CIT has opened up the ballot to any local food bank in the nation, but here in NH, Direct Capital has once again chosen NH Food Bank as a partner.

In 2015, the NH Food Bank distributed over 12 million pounds of non-perishable food items, fresh produce, and meats to more than 400 non-profit food agencies in all corners of NH.
