The Running Nuns 5K Kicks Off On Labor Day

Running Nuns 5k St. Charles Children's Home
Reading Time: 1

One of our favorite charities is the St. Charles Children’s Home, a place where children with behavioral issues and troubled backgrounds can go to receive the help they need.

The nuns of St. Charles take these children and give the help and love they need to change and grow, and one of the ways they do this is by running with them. Most every day, the nuns in their habits are outside in Rochester, getting the children their exercise.

Every year, St. Charles holds a 5k in the Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as their major fundraiser and an opportunity for the community to run against the runs, who are probably faster than you or I. The race takes place on Labor Day, which is next Monday, and kicks off promptly at 9 a.m.

The fee is $20 per runner, with discounts for those 12 and under. You can sign up right here. You’ll get a nice run in a beautiful part of Portsmouth and a chance to help nuns doing great work in our local community.
