4 Ways Your Small Business Can Promote Its Customers

Customer Interactions at Small Businesses

Nothing makes your customers feel all warm and fuzzy inside like being recognized. If they’re going to spend their hard-earned money at your business, being singled out as a great customer gives them a bond with your company and incentive to return.

So how can you promote your customers in a way that keeps them coming back and gives you a reputation as a shopper-friendly store/online presence/volcanic lair? As it turns out, there are (at least) four relatively easy ways to wrap in your best customers and make them feel appreciated.

4 Ways To Promote Your Customers

  1. Testimonials. This puts a name and face to the kind words while also getting the customer out front-and-center. The fact that you used their testimonial tells them you value their feedback and their patronage.
  2. Engage with them on social media. If someone offers up a critique or praise of your business, don’t just let it sit there. Instead, build a conversation with the customer and, if the platform allows it, promote it. You’ll wrap more customers into the conversation, let the original customer know they have a vote and come out looking thoughtful in the process.
  3. Feature a customer in marketing and advertising materials. This can be a little trickier, but how thrilled would your customer be to see themselves in a television or newspaper ad, or in a brochure for your company? It’s a little slice of fame.
  4. Hold contests and giveaways. Not only do shoppers get free stuff this way, but you can also post their names as a congratulations. Assuming you build that condition into your contest, of course.

You may want to consider a small business loan  or a working capital loan* in order to bolster some of these efforts, but a lot of them require little money and a minimum of effort to do. When you consider that a happy, involved customer is one that spends money and can become a brand advocate for your company, it’s well worth your while.
