The 50 Best Mobile Apps for Small Business Owners

Reading Time: 16 minutes

Small business owners often have more responsibilities than CEOs and CIOs of large corporations because they don’t have teams of people to which they can delegate the day-to-day tasks associated with running their businesses. The good news is that several developers and tech companies have created mobile apps to help small business owners work more productively and efficiently by getting more organized, handling finances and accounting, communicating and collaborating with their teams, and more.

All of us here at Direct Capital have chosen apps that are highly rated by users themselves and highly recommended by leading tech publications. Almost all of our 50 best mobile apps for small businesses and small business owners are cross platform and have just the right features that small business owners need to make the most of their time and money.

  1. Excellent list and extremely useful as well. It would definitely help me because I’m planning to start a bookkeeping business in a small scale and would like all my operations to be automated. I am considering using a RMS software( http://multiflexrms.com/retail-management-system ) that would provide me control over all the operations. I’m sure more than one tool mentioned above would be of use too.

  2. For business owners in the restaurant world I recommend downloading the Trist android app. It helps customers know more about your business down to the hours and the menu changes. The app even covers attire expectations.

Even if you don’t have a restaurant it’s still a good app to monitor as you can quickly find a good place to take the staff out for lunch, a hot spot to grab a drink with a client, and a fast way to feed a hungry team working overtime.

  3. Thank you for this great list! I want to add my personal favourite project management tool – https://casual.pm/. It’s allows to create visual maps of tasks and see the big picture at once. It is not expensive and also provides free plans for students and NGOs. It’s beautiful, intuitive and simple, that’s why it’s a thing worth to try!

  4. Scott, great list! I love to work with Evernote. It helps me to keep myself over the top of my tasks. Currently I use the app http://moneypenny.me. Its key features are invoicing and time tracking. You can really easy create a professional invoice in a couple of minutes. Same for estimates. Time tracking is easy, too. You can track your time within the web-app or on your iPhone or Android device. The app is available in the iTunes-App-Store and in the Google-Play-Store. I cannot image to work without it anymore. I hope it makes it into your list sometime in the future.
