Here’s a quick post for those small businesses looking to infuse their workforce with new blood.

CNN Small Business has compiled a list that examines what states have the highest percentage of residents with advanced degrees and with at least some level of college education, as well. It’s far from the most comprehensive list, but certainly if you’re a firm with some national presence, you could do worse than checking out these states.

Who tops the list? That would be traditional New England college bastion Massachusetts, which has 16 percent of its population with some sort of advanced degree, and a further 61.8 percent with some level of college education.

Here’s the full list:

  1. Massachusetts
  2. Maryland
  3. Colorado
  4. Connecticut
  5. Vermont
  6. New Hampshire
  7. Virginia
  8. Minnesota
  9. Washington
  10. New Jersey

As you can see by the list, you’re in good shape if you’re looking for new help along the eastern seaboard, which features seven of the ten states, and in particular New England, which features four of those.

Does this list have value for you? Let us know.
