Running a business is no easy task. And doing accounting for that business can be even more daunting. But there are plenty of resources out there that can help; resources that won’t take up too much of your time or overwhelm you. To make it even easier, Direct Capital has put together a list of six accounting blogs it will be worth subscribing to going into 2016.
In no particular order…
- Brotemarkle, Davis & Co
BDCo, based in St. Helena, CA, is not only an accounting firm for those of you in the area that might want assistance, but one that also puts small businesses first. Their resources help outline current accounting and tax trends small businesses should be aware of, while also helping you keep certain issues top of mind (See their “Think you’re too small for fraud? Think again” post).
- Empower Your Business
They write on their blog, “Good record-keeping and accounting are key to the proper management of any business, but they are only the first stages in running a successful business.” That’s why their blog doesn’t just discuss accounting, but about online security, employment laws, and more. Definitely check out their website to determine how accounting and bookkeeping really fit in to your business!
- The CPA Desk
The CPA Desk, out of Houston, TX, believes in thought leadership and helping business owners with advice and tips. Their Tax and Accounting desk will keep you informed of tax news and regulations to help you plan better, and the Route to Profits section will provide insights and best practices to guide you to overall success.
- School of Bookkeeping
The team at School of Bookkeeping provides bookkeepers, accountants, financial professionals, and business owners with the tools they need to understand all facets of their business. This includes different resources – like Fundera, Quickbooks, and Google Sheets. Plus, blog tips about cash flow planning, business loans, and using online accounting apps. This website is definitely a one-stop-shop for business owners looking for a holistic accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Business Learning Institute
The Business Learning Institute puts together courses for business owners to not only help them understand the different facets of accounting, bookkeeping, and taxes, but also ones to aid in business development. Check out their list of workshops here.
- Sales Tax Support
Having worked with many businesses throughout the years, Sales Tax Support understands the challenges business owners face – finding the correct, specialized information, products, and services they need. That’s why they created this hub. It’s a place where business owners can go to get information on sales tax, tax laws, and other changes made that could impact the way they operate. As a business owner, it’s important to not only know how to properly complete your bookkeeping, but also the laws that impact it. Sales Tax Support can help you navigate the process.
But don’t let this list hold you back. There are plenty more out there we haven’t even discovered, yet. Let us know which blogs you are reading by reaching out on Twitter (@DirectCapital).
